The Orphans’ Parliament celebrates eight orphaned barn owls that I helped care for as a volunteer at Wildlife Education & Rehabilitation Center in Morgan Hill, California. They came from three different sites as very young, helpless hatchlings. Barnadette, the resident barn owl Education Ambassador fostered them until they were old enough to move into the large flight area. I photographed them for this painting just before they were released into the wild.
